Description

Since Running Man is on his side, this would be better referred to as "Climbing Man"

NGC1977 is a large, bright reflection/emssion object just north of the famous Orion Nebula, M42 in the constellation of Orion. The bright star, HD 37018, at the center of this image is the powerhouse exciting this HII region. The framing on this image was intended to show the gradations between the brighter reflection and emission regions, as well as into the dark surrounding molecular cloud
