Description

Astrodon Generation 2 LRGB and 3 nm H-a guided with SBIG ST-402 and Astrodon MonsterMOAG. Data acquired with CCDAutoPilot4 and MaximDL.  Processed in CCDStack and Photoshop CS3.

The Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33) is an extrusion from a dark cloud that is backlit by the bright nebula IC434 and is just below (south) the bright, leftmost belt star, zeta orionis, in the consellation of Orion.  The bright, greenish-blue reflection nebula below and to the left of the Horsehead is NGC2023.   The field of view is ~32 arcmin square and north is to the left.
