Description

IC2169 is a bright blue reflection nebula in the constellation of Monoceros about 2 deg west of the Cone Nebula and Christmas Tree Cluster at RA 6hr 32m 15s and DEC 9deg 44m 32s.  The smaller reflection nebula in the upper left corner of the image in NGC2245. These objects, along with the Cone Nebula, NGC 2264, are part of one large star-forming region, RSF3 Mon, that is estimated to be ~1700 light years distant. North is up and the field is ~ 42 x 42'.
